B.W. (Billy) Carr

B.W. (Billy) Carr, 68, of Cisco passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010, in Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Cisco officiated by Reverend Ronnie Shackelford. Masonic graveside rites will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5:00~7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

B. W. was born March 30, 1942, to J C and Dorothy May (Donham) Carr in Gorman, Texas.

He attended school at Cisco. He and Sandra Kay Cosper were married March 15, 1980, in Cisco. He was the owner and operator of the B. W. Carr Trucking. He was a member and Past Master of the Cisco Masonic Lodge #556 and Moran #863 and Past Patron of the Cisco Chapter #461 Order of Eastern Star.

“Poppy” loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved them all, and time spent with them was precious to him. One of Bill’s favorite things to do was to announce Tractor Pulls. He traveled many miles to announce a Tractor Pull. He made friends everywhere he went. He was a member of the Moran First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra, of Cisco; five children, Jimmy Davis & wife, Debbie, of Eastland, Tina Kendall of San Angelo, Avonda Hightower of Ft. Worth, John Davis & wife, Kathy, of San Saba & Mike Allen of Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, Judy Berry of Oklahoma, Chris Rowe & Christene Thomas of Eastland, Jodi Castro & Karli Kendall of San Angelo, Kevin Davis of Cisco, Alyssa, Aimee & Alec Davis of SanSaba, Lexie Allen of Missouri, Megan Carr of Colorado, Jason Hightower & wife, Stephanie, of Roanoke, & Mandy Hightower & Chris Hightower of Ft. Worth. Also surviving are eleven great-grandchildren. A son, Donald Wayne Carr, preceded him in death.
