The Bike Rodeo put on by the Eastland Lion’s Club, the Eastland Police Department and the Eastland Memorial Hospital offered participants a chance to see how well they could control their bicycles. During the event they gave out biking helmets as well as t-shirts and had inflatable bounce houses and slides set up for all the kids. There were different obstacle courses that the participants had to manipulate and they received scores on their performance on each course. Webelos Scouts Tomas and Kaiden had helped with last year’s event and decided they would come out and help again.
The Health Fair portion of the event had booths set up throughout the Wellness Center section of the hospital. They offered nutritional and health information as well as free chair messages, blood pressure checks along with glucose and cholesterol testing. I participated in all of them and found that chair messages are very relaxing and my cholesterol was on the high end of the normal range.
