Bonita (Bonnie) Ervin passed away at 3:10 PM, Monday, May 17, 2010 in the home of her sister, Evelyn Evans, in Snyder, TX. Graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday May 19, at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, Texas directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home of Cisco.
Bonnie was born June 15, 1923 to Ernest & Edith Wilson in Kensington, KS. She, with her family, moved to Sweetwater where she attended school and graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1941. She was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Naval Reserve as a W.A.V.E.
She married Roland Petty in Sulphur Springs in 1963. He preceded her in death. In 1972 she married Mick Y. Ervin and he preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister Ernestine, a brother Kenneth and a niece Tammy Evans as well as a stepson Billy Ervin.
Survivors include a sister Evelyn Evans of Snyder, a brother and sister in law Robert Wilson and Betty of Irving, TX; a brother and sister in law Keith Wilson and Rubilea of Lehigh Acres, Fl. Also surviving are several step children, several grandchildren, several great grand children as well as several nieces, nephews.
She was employed by Edgar Altom from the Eastland Co Tax Assessor Office in 1968. In 1972 she was employed by the Texas Dept of Public Safety as a Driver License Clerk. She retired from this position in 1986.
