Eastland County CrimeStoppers will feature a September burglary in Gorman as its Crime of the Month.
This is an opportunity for someone to earn up to $1000 while remaining anonymous. According to Gorman Police Chief Barbara Fenley, on or about September 16, 2009, Clarks Building Supply, 109 E. Roberts, was burglarized with dozens of items stolen.
First, according to Chief Fenley, thieves probably went over a side fence and stole hog wire, barb wire and sacks of cement. The sliding side door was pried open to gain entry to a storeroom and the main building. Items were stolen from inside, including a fence charger, wheel barrow, a post driver, several saws and propane cylinders. A large number of hand power tools and shot gun shells were taken.
Very upsetting to those who know the owner of the business, Tommy Clark, is that he was out of town with a sick relative when the break-in occurred.
