Diana Jean Smith, 59 of Cisco passed away at her home March 11, 2010. She was born March 10, 1951 and adopted by Ed and Lillian Bradshaw and raised in Cisco. She graduated Cisco High School in 1969, she then attended Cisco Jr. College before going to Tarelton State University to complete her teaching degree. She taught elementary school in Moran for 1yr. and then at Cisco. She married Bruce H. Smith on June 1, 1979. She was a great friend and avid quilter. After surviving cancer in 2000, she spent the last 9 years making prayer quilts for people who were fighting cancer. She has quilted over 100 prayer quilts since 2001 most of them pieced and quilted by hand.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Smith of Cisco, three children, daughter Christy and husband Rolan Bonnet of Cisco, son Charles “Tony” and wife Karen Smith of Lubbock, son Timothy and wife Shanna Smith of Lubbock, one grandson Robert Hamilton of Cisco, one sister Lisa and husband Robert Miller of Friendship, TX and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lillian Bradshaw.
Services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Cisco March 12, 2010. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery Cisco under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.
