Dorothy Lee McCune 82 of Cisco passed away Wednesday September 23, 2009 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday September 26, 2009 at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church, (formerly Wesley Methodist Church) 1105 Ave. A, officiated by Reverend Ken Diehm, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00 PM Friday.
Dorothy was born in Colorado City, Texas on June 14, 1927 to Charlie Clyde and Dollie (Lassiter) Cooper. She was a homemaker and worked as a dietician at E.L. Graham Hospital she also worked at Timex in Abilene and Boss Glove Manufacturing.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was involved in various functions of the church, she was a member of Chapter 461, Order of the Eastern Star, and was a member of the nursing home volunteer council and active in Eastland County MHMR
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Alton McCune; sister, Mildred Speegle, and two great grandchildren, Haley Monge and Zachrey Witt.
Survivors include sons, Charles Maples and wife Sandy, Dale McCune, Jay Maples and wife Becky; daughters, Brenda Harrison, Linda Witt and husband Jackie all of Cisco; brother, Sharley Cooper and wife Dowlene of Ponder; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
