This morning the cities of Eastland and Cisco met with the Eastland County Commissioners to make a plea for increased funding for fire services in the 2011 budget. After much discussion, the Commissioners voted to raise the funding the Cities of Cisco and Eastland receive by $7,500 each. Commissioner Christian voted against the proposal. The funds to cover this increase will come from surplus figured into the new tax rate plus raising that rate by 1/10th of a penny for a total tax rate of .59. This will increase the present rate by .04.
