EASTLAND – Tracy Lynn Maynard, 39, of Eastland, passed away Friday, November 13, 2009 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, November 16, 2009 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Boggs, Frank Saylors, and Sean Schaefer officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 until 8 P.M.
A lifelong resident of Eastland, Tracy was born on September 22, 1970. She graduated from Eastland High School in 1989. After graduating from high school she attended the University of North Texas and Tarleton State University.
Tracy worked as a secretary and in the insurance business. She was employed as a deputy in the Office of the Eastland County Treasurer until shortly before her death.
Tracy was an active member of the Eastland Lions Club for many years, having served in the District Cabinet and as president of the Eastland Club. She had been a Crime Victims Assistance Center volunteer since 1998. She attended Gunsight Baptist Church. Tracy was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gail Cozart, grandfathers Jack Graham and Doyle Maynard, and aunt Linda Graham.
She is survived by her parents Jackie and Tommy Maynard of Eastland, brothers Jason Maynard and his wife Kimberly, and Toby Maynard and his wife Amy all of Eastland; grandparents, Laverne Maynard and Frances Graham of Eastland and Bob Cozart of Desdemona; aunts Susan Graham and Connie Underwood of Eastland; nieces Dylan, Rianna, Emerson, Maddie Jo, and Zoey and nephew Caiden; fiancé’ Brent Bishop of Eastland, her beloved dogs (kids) Milo and Jordan, and a host of friends whose lives she touched and enriched.
Tracy always gave to others without expectation of anything in return. Tracy’s warmth, infectious smile and humor will be missed by all who loved her.
