Frances Lorene Hamilton of Cisco

Frances Lorene Hamilton, 91, of Cisco passed away July 30, 2010, at the Homestead Nursing & Rehab. 

Services will be Monday at 2:00 PM at the Kimbrough Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.

 

Frances Lorene was born to J. L. & Rosa Blevins Wade on April 16, 1919, in Wolf City,

Hunt County, Texas.  She and her family moved to Abilene, Texas, in 1929.  Frances

was a 1937 graduate of Abilene High School.

 

On December 31, 1938, she married J. E. (Jack) Hamilton in Abilene.  He preceded her in death in 2005.  Frances resided in the same house in Cisco for over 71 years. She enjoyed her many years as a housewife.  It was always an enjoyment to be able to cook for her family and others.  She was a member of the Cisco Church of the Nazarene where she was a nursery worker for over 25 years.

 

Survivors include four daughters, Rose Marie Hamilton of Cisco, Melba Joyce Hicks of

Pasadena, Carolyn Frances Estes of Sweetwater; two sons, Harold Glenn Hamilton of Cisco,

Dr. Barry Wade Hamilton and wife, Diane, of Churchville, NY; sister, Mertie Simmons of Dallas; three brothers, Melvin Wade and wife, Joyce, of Palestine, TX, Marvin Wade of Lancaster, TX, Virgil Wade and wife, Jean, of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Charlotte Moore, Rebecca Anderson, Frank Waskom, Travis Waskom, Jessica Hamilton and eight great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.

Frances will be missed by her family and many friends.
