Frank Robert Schlaepfer, 89, of Abilene, formerly of Cisco, passed away June 6, 2010, in Abilene. A graveside service, officiated by Reverend Richard Maxwell, will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. Visitation will be 5~7:00 PM Wednesday at the Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel in Cisco.
Frank was born December 8, 1920, to Lewis James and Mittie Mae (Turknett) Schlaepfer in Cisco. He graduated from Cisco High School and Cisco Junior College. He joined the U. S. Army and served as a military police officer in the Criminal Investigation Division. Frank retired after 25 years of service to his country.
Frank and Donna Ruth Shawn were married October 6, 1983, in Cisco. Frank served as a Deputy Sheriff for Eastland County and was a life member of the Texas Sheriff’s Association. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America, and worked for Disability Resources in Zapata, Texas. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cisco.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Abilene; son, Frank Schlaepfer, Jr. of North Carolina; daughters, Mary Tetmeyer and husband, Gerard, of San Antonio, Sandy Miller & husband, Jeff, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Anna Jacobs & Delbert Pitchford of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Mittie Carr and husband, D. J., of Ft. Myers, Florida; grandchildren, Abigale Tetmeyer, Sarah Jacobs, Gunner Jacobs, D. J. Carr, Alex Carr, Alica Carr and Alexis Miller.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy & Francie and two sons, James and Robert.
