Gerald Ivan Page, 101, of Cisco went to be with his Heavenly Father at 2:30 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2009. Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Monday, August 17, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church, officiated by Reverend Jackie Stone and Reverend Jeremy Howard. Burial was in Nimrod Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mr. Page was born to George Robert and Ida Frances (Mitchell) Page in Munday, Texas on March 6, 1908. In 1930 he met Gladys Burge and on October 26, 1930 they married in Needmore, Texas, she preceded him in death in November 1989. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Ivan Page was known in Cisco as the “Watermelon Man”. He peddled watermelons until he was 92 years old. He was also known for his inspirational poetry. He loved everyone and encouraged everyone to love the Lord in the way he lived his life and in his beautiful poems.
He is survived by three daughters, Anita Webb and husband Wayne of Cisco, Ruth Ray of Cisco and Gloria Terry and husband Ray of Martindale; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were grandsons, Ivan Webb, Billy Wiley, Don Wiley, Ronnie Webb and Sam Terry and great nephew, Bobby Ingram.
