James Virgil (J.V.) Heyser, 88 of Cisco passed away Tuesday October 26, 2010 at his home. Services will be 2:30 PM Friday at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5~7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
J.V. was born in Cisco on March 14, 1922 to Beulah (Lambert) and James Virgil Heyser, Sr.
He was a graduate of Cisco High School and Cisco Jr. College and attended Texas Wesleyan University where he played basketball.
He served in the US Army during World War II and married Helen Britschgi on April 27, 1946 in Berkeley, California.
J.V. owned and operated Heyser Trucking and raised Registered Angus cattle. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church; he was also, a member of the Texas Angus Association and American Angus Associations, The Texas Cattle Raiser Association, Cisco Lions Club, Lake Cisco County Club and Lakeside County Club in Eastland and he was a Scout Master of Troup 101. He served as Justice of the Peace in Precinct 4 for eight years and served on the Cisco ISD School Board for twelve years.
Survivors include; his wife, Helen Heyser of Cisco; daughters, Sheri Malone of Houston, Sicily Reed and husband Paul of Cameron; sons, Al Heyser and wife Colleen, and Joe Heyser of Cisco;
9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
