Jessie Ramsey

Jessie Ramsey, 95, passed away at a White Settlement nursing facility on Tuesday March 23, 2010. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday in Putnam Cemetery, Putnam, Texas under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco.

Jessie was born in Robertson County, Texas on Jan 7, 1915. She was one of 12 children born to George and Sara Sills. She lived in Texas all of her life but in different towns and cities. Her greatest love was her only son, George. Wherever George lived during his army career, Jessie traveled to visit him, including 3 trips to Europe. Jessie taught and managed Beauty Colleges in Abilene and Dallas. She was a woman of many talents that included oil painting, sewing, furniture refinishing and leather work. She had a very competitive nature that made her in great demand as a domino and forty two partner. She learned to play bridge at 80 years of age. She was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was once named their Woman of the Year.

She is survived by her son, George Ramsey and his wife, Nettie of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Lisa Perehoduk and husband Mark of Houston and Tim Ramsey of Fort Worth; and 6 great grand children – Lindsey Perehoduk, Daniel Perehoduk, Amy Perehoduk, Zachary Ramsey, Madison Ramsey, and Bailey Ramsey and one brother, Jack Sills of Colorado.
