Jimmie Wayne Alexander of Ranger

Ranger – Jimmie Wayne Alexander, 71, of Ranger, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at a local hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Cross Roads Cemetery with Ronny Guess officiating. The family will receive friends at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger on Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Jimmie was born November 21, 1938 in Stephenville to Charles and Lucille (Canancer) Alexander. After serving in the Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne, he worked in the oilfield for many years as a welder and supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Alexander; six sons, Charles Rufus Alexander and wife, Kim, of Bronte, Jimmie Wayne Alexander, Jr., Robert Otto Alexander and wife, Wendy, both of New Orleans, LA, James Britt Alexander and wife, Jana, of Houston, Matthew D. Richardson and Christina Casey, and Jamie Ray Richardson and wife, Sharen, all of Ranger; a sister, Mary Lucille Burrows of Lake Texoma; several step children; numerous grandchildren, including the lights of his life, Justin, Jayton and Shelby; and numerous great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, a brother, C.R. Alexander, Jr. and a sister, Charlene Duddly.
