Kong Lights Up, Brings In New Year With More of the Same

For the week of January 3, 2011 King Kong water crews will be working along West Plummer making tie-ins from existing mains to the new 12 inch main. Service interruptions of up to 4 hours may be necessary.

Curb and patch crews will be working along Lamar and Moss, Green and Olive and Plummer between Ostrom and Walnut.

Wastewater crews will continue work along Lago Vista towards Pogue Ave. and Terri St. Crews open cut the front parking area of the Country Villa Apartments last week. This week the trench will be filled in with road base. Concrete and asphalt will be laid once all settling has stopped. Please use caution in this area!

Electrical crews have installed power to the new water tower including the flood lights that are now illuminating the east side logo at night.

All citizens are urged to observe warning signs and to never enter barricade/cone areas in all of the construction zones.

Residents and businesses in any of the King Kong Project areas are reminded to always keep a good supply of drinking and flushing water on hand in the event your service is interrupted.

Whitewater Construction crews cut the parking lot of the Country Villa Apartments on Lago Vista Blvd. to trench and lay a new city sewer line. Crews will be working in this area through the end of this week.

Darnell and Dickson crews spent Tuesday afternoon removing parts of the old water system that filled the water towers at the city park and adding the means to fill the new tower when it is ready for filling and testing.
