Kong Projects Creating Disruptions

For the week of December 27, 2010 the King Kong projects will be more disruptive than in the recent past. From water issues to street/parking impediments, Kong is rearing his havoc again!

On Tuesday, Dec. 28 a major component of the King Kong project will be necessary to complete as crews begin the long process of connecting the new water main service line to the water towers at the city park. Hopefully the only notice most citizens will see will be a fluctuation in their water pressure. Everyone should be prepared in the event there is a need to interrupt water services. Always keep a day’s supply of drinking and flushing water on hand. Possible interruption of water services and or low pressure could be had for up to 8 hours during this time.

Crews will also be performing tie overs on West Plummer between Madera and Walnut. Expect service interruptions in this area for at least 4 hours.

Patch crews will be working along College from Commerce to Railroad Ave.; Green between Olive and Commerce; North Lamar between Moss and Railroad Ave., and at Daugherty and White St.

Major work will be happening along Lago Vista which could cause parking issues at Country Villa Apts. This work will continue east to Pogue Ave. and Terri St.

All citizens are urged to observe warning signs and to never enter barricade/cone areas in all of the construction zones.
Residents and businesses in any of the King Kong Project areas are reminded to always keep a good supply of drinking and flushing water on hand in the event your service is interrupted.
