Linda Wooldridge, 59, of Lake Leon died Thursday, August 14, 2005 in Abilene, TX. Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 16, in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland with Bro. Craig Rhoton officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery near Gorman.
Linda was born on July 21, 1951, in Gorman, Texas to Homer and Rena Mae Smith Kirk. On December 25, 1970, she married Daniel Wooldridge in Weatherford, TX, moved to Eastland in 1973, and later to Lake Leon. She worked in retail locally at Gibsons, Motts, and Dollar Plus. Following retail, she began sitting with the elderly. She was a homemaker and her mother and husband’s caregiver. She was a member of Lake Leon Baptist Church and the Olden Volunteer Fire Department. She was known for being “behind the scenes” as she donated food, school supplies, and money to the local charities, churches, and school. She became “Mom” and “Nana” to many young people.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law Mae and Rick Rackow and their daughters Laney and Terra of Eastland, daughter and son in law Christy and Travis Dodson of Abilene, daughter Hollie Wooldridge and Tami Halford and children Garrett and Juanita of Carbon, son Daniel Wooldridge II of Lake Leon, sister and brother in law Brenda and Jerry Newton of Grand Prairie, and brother Jimmy Kirk of Irving, brother in law and sister in law Norman and Roseanne Wooldridge of Weatherford, sister in law Juanita Cummings of Weatherford, and many nieces and nephews.
