Lord, What Is It Your Spirit Wants Of Me

Isaiah 61:1 KJV “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath appointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek: He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening of the prisons to them that are bound.”

If you have accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord of your life, insert your name in the Scripture above in the place of upon me. Then think about this. In Matthew we are given the Great Commission and it says much the same thing. The words of the Gospel are needed everywhere you look today. People are feeling abused, lonely and neglected. Many have tears running down their cheek but others who are hurting have a smile on their face and seem happy. Many people are in prisons that they have made for themselves or others have made for them. Everyone wants to be free.

Begin to think of the people you know and love who are really in trouble. Then begin to pray for them on a regular basis. Lift them up to the Lord and ask Him to help you reach out to them in a very meaningful way. Pray that they may find the peace of God which passeth all understanding.
