Mary Inez Brown, age 89 of Breckenridge, died Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Stephens Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 25th, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Mary Inez Taylor was born on February 25, 1921 in Hermleigh, Texas to parents, William Perry Taylor and Mae Omie Allison Taylor. As a young child, she moved to Breckenridge where she grew up and attended schools. Inez married Earl Azol Brown on March 31, 1941 in Breckenridge. He later preceded her in death in 1986. Inez’s earlier years in Stephens County, were spent ranching. She loved tending to the livestock and she made pets out of each and every animal. Inez attended nursing school and earned her LVN License. She served as a nurse for over forty years, working at Stephens Memorial Hospital and later Villa Haven Health and Rehab Center. An accomplished artist, Inez loved oil painting and teaching others to paint as well. She was also a very talented musician and enjoyed playing both the guitar and organ. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Ada Sue McClure and one son-in-law, Johnnie Morren.
Inez is survived by three daughters, Ida Morren of Breckenridge, Oma Trussell and husband, John of Abilene and Margie Crounce and husband, Lamar of Mineral Wells; one son, Robert Brown of Tuscumbia, AL; three sisters, Faye VanWinkle and Dorothy Cox, both of Breckenridge and Ruth Holland of Blanket; thirteen grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren.
