Halloween night in Eastland started at 5:00 p.m. with Trick-or-Treat on the Square. Nightmare on the Square helped out by handing out candy and a few frights. The haunted house officially opened at 7:00 p.m. and had people clinging to each other, covering their eyes and moving through rather quickly until they closed at midnight. Somewhere around 400 people ventured through the hallways of the Lyric Theater building during the nights the event was held. Thanks go out to Norm Logan and the Eastland Art Club, Shelby Arrington and the FCCLA, and Walter Williams and the Key Club. Several parents showed up each night to help decorate and run this event which made it all run so much smoother. Thanks also to the Eastland Centre for the Arts for allowing these groups use of the building. The students who help out with this project each year are to be commended. Although it is a lot of fun at times, it is also a lot of work and the students were there each evening after school while it was under construction, and stuck to their positions each night it was open. We all look forward to scaring you again next year!
