Agenda for February 22, 2010 Ranger City Meeting

Notice is hereby given that a Regular Meeting of the Governing Body of the City of Ranger, Texas will be held on Monday February 22, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall, 400 West Main Street, Ranger, Texas. The following subjects will be discussed, to wit:

Agenda Item 01: Call to Order- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 02: Roll Call- City Secretary

Agenda Item 03: Citizen’s Presentation

Agenda Item 04: Discussion/Approval with possible action to consider nominating Doctor Bill Campion, President of the Ranger College for the Workforce Solutions Board in Abilene, Texas- Doctor Bill Campion

Agenda Item 05: Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the streets around the Ranger College- Doctor Bill Campion

Agenda Item 06: Discussion/Approval with possible action to have the Roaring Ranger Day on September 18, 2010 by the Citizens Task Force- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 07: Previously Tabled; Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning a request to have a street light installed at the intersection of Mesquite and South Austin- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 08: Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the Citizens Task Force having a Clean-up day on April 10, 2010 with an alternate date of April 24, 2010 in case of rain day- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 09: Discussion/Approval to receive an update concerning Spring Road and Lamar Street- Commissioner Gerdes

Agenda Item 10: Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning Resolution No. 2010-02-22-A, a Resolution of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Ranger, Texas regarding a Joint Election Agreement between the Eastland County Water Supply District, Ranger College, and the City of Ranger for the May 8, 2010 Elections- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 11: Previously Tabled; Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the possible transfer of funds from the Street Fund account to the General Fund account to pay the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) fines- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 12: Previously Tabled; Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning paying $6,600 from the State Sales Tax money that is received monthly to the Street Fund until all monies are repaid that were borrowed to pay the TCEQ fines- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 13: Convene into executive session pursuant to Texas Government Code, Section 551.074 to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee:

(1). Public Works Supervisor Position.

(2). Public Works Employee open-position.

(3). City Administration open-position.

Agenda Item 14: Reconvene into open session to take action as deemed appropriate in the City Commission’s discretion regarding:

(1). Public Works Supervisor Position.

(2). Public Works Employee open-position.

(3). City Administration open-position.

I, the undersigned authority, do hereby certify that the above notice of meeting of the Governing Body of the City of Ranger is a true and correct copy of said notice on the bulletin board at the City Hall of the City of Ranger, a place convenient and readily available to the general public at all times, and notice was posted by 5:30 p.m., February 19, 2010 and remained posted for 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of the meeting.
