Ranger City Meeting May 10th Agenda

Notice is hereby given that a Regular Meeting of the Governing Body of the City of Ranger, Texas will be held on Monday May 10, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall, 400 West Main Street, Ranger, Texas.  The following subjects will be discussed, to wit:

Agenda Item 01:  Call to Order- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 02:  Roll Call- City Secretary

Agenda Item 03:  Citizen’s Presentation- At this time, anyone on the list will be allowed to speak on any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation, for a length of time not to exceed THREE minutes.  No Council/Board discussion or action may take place on a matter until such matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with law

Agenda Item 04:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning a request from a citizen to conduct swimming lessons at the Ranger Swimming Pool- Ms. Kay Levi

Agenda Item 05:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the acceptance of the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 audit from Mr. Cameron Gulley- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 06:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning a letter from Officer Saldana to Police Chief Elton McCoy about required training in Brownwood for Officer Saldana- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 07:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the installation of a street light at the intersection of Garrett Street and East Loop 254 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Park- Commissioner Gerdes

Agenda Item 08:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the Texas Midwest Community Networks (TMCN) “Dinner and Conversation” event on June 7, 2010- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 09:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the Economic Development Sales Tax Workshop on May 21, 2010- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 10:  Discussion/Approval with possible action to replace the air conditioning unit for the Police Department- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 11:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning allowing Constable Jackie Daniels to switch a part (Third member) off one of the old Police cruisers to his Law Enforcement cruiser- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 12:  Discussion/Approval with possible action to purchase a Vacuum Truck for the City of Ranger- Commissioner Gerdes

Agenda Item 13:  Discussion/Approval with possible action to send the Finance Director to the Public Funds Investment Seminar on June 17 & 18, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas and to pay the associated fee’s (Lodging, Fuel, Course fee, & Per Diem) for him to attend- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 14:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning the Ranger Economic Development Corporations May 1, 2010 to April 30, 2011 Annual Budget- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 15:  Discussion/Approval with possible action to accept the Fiscal Year 2010-2011 budget for the City of Ranger- Mayor Green

Agenda Item 16:  Discussion/Approval with possible action concerning Resolution No. 2010-05-10-A, A Resolution by the City Council of the City of Ranger, Texas, to enter into an agreement with the State of Texas through the Texas Department of Transportation for the temporary closure of the State Highway 101 (Main Street), and Farm-to-Market road 717 (Austin Street) for a parade and Roaring Ranger Day activities- Mayor Green

·    Animal Control Report- (Monthly Report- Total Calls, Pound fee’s collected, Animal food costs, Number of strays, Deceased animals, Skunks, Snakes, other Wild Animals, Possible Rabid Animals, Animal Bites, Sick or Injured Animals, Quarantines, Specimens sent to lab, Animals Euthanized, Citations Issued, Warnings Issued, Number of Animals released back to owners, Animals Adopted, Animals remaining in Animal Control Shelter)
·    Public Works Report- (Monthly Department Report- Sewer stoppages, Water Leaks, Sewer Taps, Water Taps, Meters pulled, Status of Equipment, Status of Roadwork, Status of Clean-up, Status of personnel)
·    Airport Report- (Quarterly Report only)

I, the undersigned authority, do hereby certify that the above notice of meeting of the Governing Body of the City of Ranger is a true and correct copy of said notice on the bulletin board at the City Hall of the City of Ranger, a place convenient and readily available to the general public at all times, and notice was posted by 5:30 p.m., May 07, 2010 and remained posted for 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of the meeting.
