Raymond B. Garcia Jr of Ranger

Roman (Raymond) Garcia, Jr., age 70 of Ranger, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 11, 2010. Memorial service will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Reuben

Raymond was born on August 12, 1939 in Greenlake, Texas to Roman Garcia and Olivia Espinoza Garcia. He was raised in Edna, Texas. He married Ofelia Lopez on May 20, 1962 in Brownfield, Texas. He worked as a cottom ginner for many years, in Seagraves,
Seminole and Big Spring, Texas. He worked at Texas Instruments in Lubbock for 5 years as electric maintenance supervisor. After TI closed the plant in Lubbock, he went to work at McLanes Southwest in Temple, Texas, where he worked for l4 years as electric maintenance supervisor. He retired due the health problems in 1999. He and his wife then moved to Ranger, Texas.

Survivors include his wife, Ofelia Garcia of Ranger; two daughters, Norma Underhill and husband, Johnny of McGregor, and Nelda Woltemath of Sedgwick, Colorado; four brothers, Tomas Garcia of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Robert Garcia of Crosby, Rueben Garcia of Houston, Johnny Joe Garcia of Mercedes; three sisters, Estella Lopez of San Angelo, Eva Lozano of Mercedes, and Erma Garcia of Edcouch; five grandchildren, Jonathan Freeman, Lance Woltemath, Lacie Barnes , Jaden Woltemath and Hallee Woltemath.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Beatrice.
