ABILENE, TEXAS— Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas is currently seeking applicants for a regional summer youth program. This regional program has been designed to assist youth, ages sixteen to twenty four (16-24) years of age gain work experience. Participants in the program will be paid an hourly wage of $7.25 per-hour for a maximum of 32 hours per week, for six weeks. Worksites will include private for profit, non-profit and public establishments. Over 350 youth are expected to be placed in jobs based on their interests. This program plans to be a learning experience for all participants to develop job skills, good attitudes, values and work habits, which will contribute to their future success in the workplace. Depending upon the interest in the region, the program will be offered to the 19-counties served by Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas.
