Area churches and youth leaders have come together in a big way, presenting a youth rally the evening of “See You At The Pole,” September 22nd at 7:00 PM to take place at the Mountain Top Church auditorium.
Youth leaders from First Baptist Church in Eastland, Mountain Top Church, First United Methodist Church, Corinth Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church, First Baptist Church in Cisco and the Tri-County Baptist Association are coming together in a monumental way to present an evening of worship, media, food, games and prayer in response to the nation-wide “See You At the Pole” gathering.
“See You At the Pole” is a national day of prayer for students, who gather around their school’s flagpole before school to pray.
Guy Earle, former professional football player and current associate pastor at FBC in Eastland will speak at the event, with local praise and worship band Ignite performing a high-energy music service.
Local youth leader John Yates talked about the need for an area-wide gathering of churches.
“We feel as a group of local youth pastors that we should come together occasionally and show our students that we aren’t trying to compete with each other, but present our groups as one body of Christ whose purpose is to disciple young people and reach out to those who aren’t currently in church and have no relationship with Jesus Christ,” he said. “Sometimes you have to get rid of the gimmicks and pomp and just be real with students. That’s what our mission is, to show kids that Jesus is real in their lives and having a relationship with Him should be the focus.”
