The Cisco Writers Club invites you to celebrate Thanksgiving early with us! Tuesday, November 2 (yes, election night), we will be serving turkey dinner, fun and fellowship in the beautiful new Myrtle Wilks Community Center, 1498 Interstate Highway 20 West in Cisco. Members and family and the public are welcome.
The Wedding Chapel, a pleasant, intimate room situated in the southeast corner of the Center, has been set aside for our use. Enter the building through the convenient side doors with the blue-roofed portico. Turn right through the auditorium to find the kitchen, or left the length of the mall to reach the Chapel.
Table ware, turkey and creamed potatoes are furnished. Please bring a side dish, dessert or drink. The kitchen is available for food warming and preparation, but be aware that we’ll share it with e-Teen, whose dozens of young people receive dinner weekly in the Center’s auditorium.
Following dinner, we will share the results of President Patrick Ready’s October writing challenge: “Develop interview questions for Mrs. O’Leary of Chicago Fire fame.”
Also, each member was asked to write down a theme or title only for a poem and bring that on a piece of blue typing paper to the November meeting. Developing another person’s idea into a poem should pose an interesting way to. . .
