A step closer to the completion of the facade of the Lyric Theatre happened Monday as a crew from The Neon Shop in Abilene installed the much anticipated Lyric sign and marquee. All went well until the actual flip of the switch when it was discovered the neon L had been damaged in transit.
Brad Bardin, owner of The Neon Shop will return on Friday to make the necessary repairs and without any further complications, the sign should be welcoming the many Eastland High School exes attending the downtown fish fry Friday night.
Brad also hopes to be able to install the awning over the Lyric entrance on Friday.
Brick work continues on the rest of the facades but most likely won’t be completed in full before Friday’s kickoff of the EHS All School Reunion. But, mason Robert Moore assures the scaffolding will come down so all those attending can get a better view of the new look to the buildings.
