Train And Car Collide In Cisco

Paramedics flew a 5-year-old girl to the hospital after a train collided with the car she was riding in, the Cisco Fire Department confirmed.

It happened along Highway 183 on the north end of the city between Avenue A and Gout Street around 3:30 p.m..

Authorities tell that a 40-year-old female and the child were in the vehicle when it was struck. The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. The child was flown to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. The child’s condition is unknown.

Crews quickly cleared the totaled vehicle from the scene. However, the train stayed on the tracks through the early part of the evening as investigators from Union Pacific looked into the accident.
