Travis Crutchfield, Jr., 56, died Thursday, April 15, 2010, in Seton Hospital in Austin. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, in First Baptist Church, Buffalo Gap, with the Reverends Steve Joiner and Graham Gutting officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home in Tuscola. Visitation will be today from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Travis was born October 30, 1953, in Ranger, to Travis and Doris Bush Crutchfield. He married Linda McCollum December 18, 1993, in Tuscola. A graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he served as pastor of several Baptist churches in Texas.. At the time of his death, he was Nursing Home Minister for Abilene Baptist Association and a member of First Baptist Church in Buffalo Gap.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Crutchfield of Buffalo Gap; a brother, Stanley Crutchfield and wife Sandra of Cisco; a sister, Karen Blazi and husband John of Dublin; his mother, Doris Crutchfield of Cisco; his mother-in-law, Nell McCollum of Buffalo Gap; a brother-in-law, Bart McCollum and wife Michelle of Amarillo; one niece; three nephews; one great-niece; and several other relatives and many friends.
