Troy Meredith Anderson, 89 of Cisco and formerly of Fort Worth passed away Tuesday July 20, 2010 at Eastland Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at The Old Gospel Church officiated by Brother Dennis McClure and burial with military honors will be in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. Visitation at the funeral home with family will be 5:00-7:00 PM Friday.
Mr. Anderson was born in Cisco, Texas on August 31, 1920 to Reverend Leemon Clay and Ruby Mable (Doyle) Anderson. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor; he attended Cisco Junior College, Texas Christian University, and graduated from Texas Wesleyan University. Mr. Anderson retired from the City of Fort Worth on January 1, 1983 where he was an Environmental Health Coordinator. He was married Avalon Marie Hamilton who preceded him in death, he later married Syble O. White who also preceded him in death. He was a Life Member of the VFW and a member of The Old Gospel Church.
He is survived by sons, Andy Anderson and wife Gloria of Weatherford, Greg Anderson and wife Martha of Benbrook; brother, Teddy Anderson and wife Nina Jo of Cisco; sisters, Patsy Owens and husband Larry of Cisco Koretha Richardson and husband Johnny Bob of Cisco; grandchildren, Troy Grant Anderson, Tonya Swaim. Jill Ratliff, Heather Anderson, Jeremy Anderson, and Maranda Anderson; great grandchildren, Courtney Reasoner, Frank Watson, Nathan Swaim, Caleb Swaim, and Cole Anderson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Lynn Anderson; brothers, Billy Anderson and Norman Anderson; sisters, Lona Allard and Jewel Alexander; and a great grandchild, Corey Anderson.
