Cisco College is hosting a free half-day women’s conference on Friday, Sept. 24 at the Abilene campus. The morning will be filled with educational and fun discussions, snacks and exhibits that will help women navigate some of life’s issues, both big and small.
Registration and continental breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by a welcome from Dr. Carol Dupree, provost of Cisco College’s Abilene Educational Center at 9 a.m.
The opening session will feature two members of the Mesquite Storytellers, Beverly Priddy and Abby Ryan Randolph, who will offer a humorous look at how women handle life while a panel discussion and several breakout sessions will round out the morning. The breakout sessions will include the following:
* Protecting yourself (Team CHIP Tae Kwon Do)
* Conquering your closet
* Take the stress out of handling the conflicts in your life
* Facebook—what it is and how to use it
* Empowering and encouraging the women of the future
* Health issues for women today
* The law and you
* Quick tips for hair and makeup
Between sessions, participants will also have the opportunity to visit with representatives from various organizations, including Anytime Fitness, Curves, Silpada Jewelry, American Heart Association and many more! The conference will conclude at 12:30 p.m.
