Philippians 4:8 KJV “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things?
Meditate on the attributes mentioned in this verse. Do not stop there but consider the words following: Virtue and praise. Many things begin with the phrase “I know this is true.” But is that truth one of moral excellence? Something can be honest and not be worthy of applause. Things may be pure and be dangerous or even poison for the body. Even the lovely things of life can be very harmful to a person. I even think a copperhead snake is beautiful but from personal experience that the thing is poison and he stinks. Many good reports have been altered in order for them to be approved in the business world but they are not acceptable.
Read this verse again and use it as a ruler to judge your own life.
